Complementary Therapies provided
Our GP is there to diagnose, prescribe and medicate and often that's enough to get us back on track. However, when we are ill or suffering with stress for long periods of time it may take longer than it should to recover because one or more of our body systems has become blocked or stagnant. That's where the Massage Therapist or Reflexologist can help complement traditional healthcare and may help to improve your wellbeing.
Reflexology is a complementary therapy based on the belief that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all organs and parts of the body. By stimulating these points, the Reflexologist believes the body rebalances itself by encouraging it to release it's own natural healing properties. Reflexology works on an individual basis and may alleviate and improve symptoms such as everyday stress and tension bringing a sense of wellbeing. It may also aid sleep and provide feelings of relaxation and wellbeing. Reflexology is also available for Pre-Conceptual (Fertility) Care, Pregnancy Care and Natural Birth and now I also offer Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage. Please go to my Reflexology page for more information.
Massage Therapy can be used to remedy muscular back pain especially for those aches which arise from computer use, sports injuries and gardening. I have a number of regular massage clients within my Pontcanna clinic who use both deep tissue massage and chiropractic treatments to maintain back health. Alternatively, gentle massage can provide relaxation for those suffering with stress.
Pregnancy Massage - massage therapy can be highly beneficial for the aching backs of mums-to-be, especially those with toddlers (who also get to enjoy some 'me time'!)
Baby Massage is a lovely way of connecting with your baby. I offer training courses at your home for parents or groups of mum's to teach you massage techniques to relax and help you bond with your baby.
Find out more about all these massage therapies by going to my Holistic Massage page and remember Gift Vouchers are available for all these treatments.
Treatments for Cancer patients I have been a volunteer at the St David's Hospice, Newport since Sept 2013 and work with the complementary therapies team there to provide Reflexology and Massage treatments for Day Hospice patients there. If you would like a treatment at either one of my clinics or in your own home please call me to discuss.
